NWR Race Teams
Every race we support is an opportunity to uplift Native women and create space for our stories in the running community. Some may say it’s “not about race entries,” but for us, covering those costs truly breaks a barrier. It opens the door for more Native women to stand on those start lines with confidence and support.
What is a NWR Race Team?
NWR Organizes teams of Native Women to run various race events with the goal of eliminating the barrier to entry that race fees and entry constraints runners face in order to participate in the event. We open applications for each event by announcement on our social media, and a link is provided for racers to apply. Open application forms can always be found in our LinkTree, but to be sure you apply while the team is open, following the announcements on our social media is key!
Our Process
1.
Race Announced
We partner with race directors and announce the race on social media. Sometimes the team is limited to certain regions, so please read the details carefully.
2.
You Apply
Your application helps us get to know your story. Leadership reviews each submission thoughtfully, and choosing runners is never easy because we genuinely wish we could welcome everyone.
3.
We Contact Selected Runners
Once you confirm your spot, you’ll sign a waiver and be connected with the team.
4.
We Run Together
Communication continues through social media, and runners meet up in person on race day.
Please Note: Whether you are selected or not, you will receive an email from us. If you are not selected this time, we encourage you to keep applying and cheering for your Native sisters.
